Abstract:A substructure replacement technique is proposed to investigate the effect of the anisotropy on the wave scattering and diffraction of a semi-circular canyon.By introducing an arbitrary auxiliary boundary, the scattering problem is solved as a simple radiation one.Based on the substructure technique, the half-space is truncated into two parts, namely, the near field enclosing all surface irregularities and the far field with regular boundaries. The scaled boundary finite element method (SBFEM) is applied to obtain the dynamic impedance of the far field and an analytical solution of wave motion of the anisotropic free-filed is used as the input wave. The accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed method are validated by comparing the results with those of extending studies. Finally, the effect of elliptic anisotropy and non-elliptic anisotropy on the wave scattering of a semi-circular canyon is investigated.Numerical examples show that the anisotropy of half-space greatly affect the spatial distribution of the scattering wave field.
