Abstract:SiC fibers are obtained by pyrolysising of electrospun
   polycarbosilane(PCS)/polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) precursor fibers after
   curing process which to prevent fibers melting. The XRD result indicates
   that the cubic beta-SiC phase is successfully synthesized in fibers. The
   SEM analysis shows the morphology of PCS precursor fibers and SiC
   fibers. The diameters of the fibers are very small,but the uniformity is
   poor and the surface are coated with an amorphous layer of SiO2
