Abstract: Triethanolamine (TEA) was incorporated into a chitosan (CS) matrix to prepare a new blend composite membrane on a polypropylene (PP) microporous substrate. Significant enhancements in mechanical properties, CO2 permeation rate and CO2/N-2 selectivity of the thus obtained blend membrane were demonstrated compared with those of the pristine CS membrane.
