Modeling and Analysis on the Geometric Characteristics of Laser Cladding Layer

摘要:The paper focuses on the issue that current models of cladding layer's geometric characteristics are inaccurate. Based on the fact that melt pool's depth is proportional to laser energy density, a revised model is proposed, which rebuild the relation between process parameters and cladding layer's geometric features (clad height, clad width, clad depth which representing the thickness of substrate melted, namely of melt pool). A set of experiment by orthogonal method with three factors and three levels was carried out to validate the model. The result shows that theoretical values and experimental values have same tendency when process parameters change. The average error of clad width is 6.25%, the average error of clad height is 43.78%, and the average error of depth of melt pool is 33.00%, which means this model has an acceptable accuracy, and can provide a reference when predicting cladding layer' geometric features.
