Abstract:With the rapid economic development and energy consumption growth in China, the emergence of carbon emis-sions is inevitably becoming more evident. The current carbon emissions in China has been ranked second in the world,so it is necessary to study carbon emission factors and formulate relevant policies. In this paper, the data of eastern, central and western regions of China from 1996 to 2007 are adopted;structure share, efficiency share and their impacts on carbon emissions intensity are studied. The results show that in the past 12 years, the decline in carbon intensity is mostly caused by the efficiency share, especially the efficiency share in the eastern region of China.Although the structure share also plays a certain positive role, but its effect is relatively smaller than efficiency share. Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen the effects of structure share on reducing carbon emissions in the future.
