Abstract:Aiming at the problem of sheet metal sheared edge fracture appearing before deformation reaches its normal deformation capacity, the mechanism of stamping edge deformation capacity decreasing was studied through analyzing microstruction of sheared edge. Based on stress and strain states of sheared tensile being as the same as that of simple tensile test, propose a modified simple tensile test to research on effect of sheared edge on deformation capacity of sheet metal edge. The test results indicate that the deformation capacity of sheet metal edge is decreasing gradually with burr height increasing. The CAE analysis approach for split on stamping edge is proposed and has solved the problem that the traditional method is failed to predict edge fracture accurately. Furthermore, the special CAE analysis software is researched and developed. Through making an analysis on autobody side outer panel forming process, it is confirmed that the CAE analysis approach is both robust and effective.
