Abstract:Two new hybrid compounds with cadmium cations/coordination complexes as linkers, (C(6)H(5)NO(2))(4)[(H(2)O)(14)Cd(3)(CrMo(6)H(6)O(24))(2)] 1 (C(6)H(5)NO(2) = pyridine-4-carboxylic acid) and H[(H(2)O)(2)(C(6)H(5)NO(2))(C(6)H(4)NO(2))Cd](2)[CrMo(6)H(6)O(24)]center dot 9H(2)O 2 (C(6)H(5)NO(2), C(6)H(4)NO(2) = pyridine-3-carboxylic acid), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses. IR, TG, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 crystallizes in the polar space group Pc and is made up of [CrMo(6)H(6)O(24)](3-) polyoxoanions covalently linked by cadmium cations to yield an unprecedented one-dimensional chain, which represents the first example of one-dimensional assemblies based on Anderson-type POMs and cadmium cations. Adjacent inorganic chains are further in close contact by pyridine-4-carboxylic acid glues to form three-dimensional supramolecular polar networks via strong hydrogen-bonding interactions. Compound 2 exhibits a three-dimensional supramolecular channel framework constructed from cationic cadmium-pyridine-3-carboxylic acid coordination polymer sheets pillared by Anderson-type polyoxoanions, with dissociated water molecules situated in the channels. Furthermore, both of the compounds exhibit photoluminescent properties at ambient temperature. (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
In 2002, Prof. Haiyan An received the B.S. degree in chemistry Northeast Normal University, Changchun, China; the M.S. in 2004 and the Ph.D. degree in 2007 in Key Laboratory of Polyoxometalates (POMs) Science of Ministry of Education. There were 30 papers published in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Inorg. Chem., Cryst. Growth Des., etc. during the degree. In 2006, she was awarded the Excellent Doctoral Dissertations Fund of Northeast Normal University. In July 2007, Prof. An joined College of Chemistry, Dalian University of Technology in the field of POMs. Her research interests are mainly focuse on the design, synthesis and properties’research of POM-based functional complexes with catalytic and drug activity. She has Undertaked two National Natural Science Foundation of China, one Specialized Research Fund for the Doctoral Program of Higher Education, one Natural Science foundation of Liaoning Province and one Scientific Research Foundation for Doctor of Liaoning Province. There are more than 30 SCI papers have been officially published in foreign periodicals during the work period, more than 20 of which list her as the first author and corresponding author.
