Abstract: Single-crystalline Sb2Se3 nanoribbons were prepared by a simple hydrothermal method. It is found that CTAB plays a key role in the formation of the Sb2Se3 nanoribbons. The morphology and structure of the obtained nanoribbons were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM and HRTEM. Results indicate that the prepared Sb2Se3 nanoribbons grow along the [001] crystal face. The widths of these nanoribbons are around 1 mu m, thicknesses are about 100 nm and lengths of tens are micrometers. The optical properties and mechanism of the obtained nanostructures were also measured.
