摘要:The key of seismic design of bridge is that the earthquake responses of cable-stayed bridges are predicted reasonably under the action of strong earthquakes. The ground motion intensity measure is an important linking between the strong earthquake and performance of structures. Therefore, it is particularly important to select a suitable IM for large span cable-stayed bridges. The time history analysis is carried out on two large-span cable-stayed bridges modeled by OpenSees under 30 pairs ground motion recordings selected from PEER strong motion database. Several governing response parameters are selected based on the failure behavior of cable-stayed bridges with floating system. The correlations between 18 existing ground motion intensity measures (IMs) widely used and responses parameters of governing (i.e., axial force, shear force, bending moment, and lateral displacement) are investigated. The results revealed that velocity-related IMs (i.e., PGV, vrms, SED, and SMV) shows the higher correlation with the earthquake responses of large-span cable-stayed bridges. It is evident that the PGA presents poor relationship with all the response parameters of bridges, which shows that the PGA is insufficient as an IM for predicting performance of large-span cable-stayed bridges.
