Abstract:Multifractals spectrum (distribution of fractal) of workpieces gray image is used to characterize cutting surfaces of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), which is calculated based on wavelet transform. The results indicate that for the CFRP, multifractals spectrum is related to 3-D topography of cutting surfaces. The range of Lipschitz regularity reflects the roughness of surface. Value of the multifractals spectrum reflects the distribution of the peaks and valleys of cutting surface. Compared with the custom roughness evaluation, multifractals spectrum can fully evaluate the 3D topography characteristics. Since only one gray image of workpieces is needed, this method is of a high speed in data processing and is convenience used in practical applications. ?2010 IEEE.
