We are studying the roles of specific cell surface molecules in cancer and stem cells. As an extension of our recent work, we plan to analyze deferentially expressed surface molecules in both normal HSCs and leukemia stem cells (LSCs) using Microarrays，RNA-Seq, and gene knockout technology to dig out the LSC specific cell surface markers. We will further analyze their functions in the Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) development and recurrence. Our aim is to provide a strategy for a targeted therapy and prognosis of AML.
