Abstract:The uniform bolt load guarantees to realize the long effective seal of the gate flange. In the question of flange deformation caused by temperature fluctuations during startup and shut-down,the gate finite element model for transient thermal structure coupling field was estab-lished,the high temperature gate valve test device was set up and the accuracy of simulation was verified.The changing rules of bolt load and gasket stress under different combination of temper-ature holding time were studied.The results showed that,with the extension of heating time,the decline of average bolt load has slowed,the uneven degree between bolt gradually reduced.In the process of heat preservation,the average load had rebounded,the uneven degree further reduced. In the process of deformation coordination,the change of minimum gasket stress was synchro-nous with the change of bolt load.Study pointed out that in the period of continuous heating tem-perature,the heating time duration in final stage was the key to determine minimum average load,minimum stress and influenced the sealing performance of flange system.
