摘要:Infiltration of water in unsaturated soils has long been an interest of study in geotechnical engineering, and determination coefficient of permeability of unsaturated soils has increased significantly. However, a wide range in permeability coefficient has been proven to be a major obstacle in analyzing seepage problems. Soil-water characteristics curve (SWCC) is a fundamental constitutive relation for the explanation of the engineering behavior of unsaturated soil. The study of SWCC is helpful for reducing the time and cost of unsaturated soil testing for engineering purposes. Some properties of unsaturated soil, such as shear strength and permeability, can be predicted from it. Using the pressure-plate extractor, the soil-water characteristic curves of unsaturated clays under different compaction water content and different compaction efforts were obtained and its basic characteristics were analyzed. The corresponding saturated permeability coefficients were measured by the falling head method. Combined with the soil water characteristic curves and saturated coefficient of permeability, and based on the Van Genuchten model and the Fredlund and Xing model, the permeability of remoulded unsaturated clay under different compaction conditions was discussed in this paper. The results indicated that the permeability coefficient decreases with the increase of compaction water content, and the difference reduces with the increase of suction, and permeability coefficient can be assumed identical when the suction reach to 1000kPa. The permeability coefficient of samples compacted with standard proctor compaction effort and reduced proctor compaction effort are very similar. The value of kw (M) kw(S) is about 1/100 in saturated state, and which increases as the suction increases. When the suction reaches 1000kPa, the value decreases to 1/10 gradually. ? 2008 ejge.
