Background:
I’m currently a professor at Dalian University of Technology. I received Bachelor’s and Ph. D. degrees in materials science from Dalian University of Technology. I once spent one-year visiting Loughborough University (U.K.). My research covers the areas of defect detection, damage evaluation, properties characterization, and fault diagnosis of advanced materials and structures based on non-destructive testing and evaluation. It has been funded by the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and some prominent industrial enterprises.
I have published approximately 90 technical papers in refereed journals and conferences, and I am also a holder of approximately 30 patents. I have received 3 science and innovation awards from ministry/province in China and 3 best paper awards in international conferences.
I am now a senior member of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering/China Composite Materials Society, member of the ultrasound/new technology committee of the Chinese Society for Non-destructive Testing, peer review expert of National Natural Science Foundation of China (Youth Fund, General Project), youth editorial board member of 《Journal of Composite Materials》, 《Materials Engineering》, and 《Journal of Aeronautical Materials》, and peer review expert for some international academic journals such as《NDT & E International》,《Composites Science and Technology》,《Composites Part B》,《Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing》,《Scientific reports》, etc.

- Good background in software/hardware, mechanical engineering/automation, physics/mechanics, non-destructive testing, materials, etc.
- Good experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, etc.
- Good experience with modeling software such as ABAQUS, COMSOL, etc.
- Persistence for innovation in scientific research,

Research Interests:
- Multi-scale evaluation of metal fatigue damage
- Aging, impact damage and non-destructive evaluation of composite materials
- Ultrasonic (phased array, nonlinear) signal processing and imaging
- Non-destructive characterization of microstructure, properties, and residual stress
- Elastic anisotropy characterization and mechanical/acoustic numerical simulation
