Numerical simulation on the mixture of multi-inlet vertical jet and mainstream in reactor

Abstract:The calculation model was built under cold condition, based on real geometric structure, 1: 1 size experimental device of main reactor of TiO2 in Jinzhou Titanium Industry. And numerical simulation was carried out by commercial CFD software, aiming to analyze internal flow and mixture of multiinlet vertical jet and main-stream. By comparing the numerical simulation results with the experimental data, it indicates almost uniform tendency. In the measuring section of 30 degrees direction, the calculation is inosculated with the experimental data, but existing obvious deviation of 150 degrees direction, especially in the central area of the section. Mixture of multi-inlet vertical jet and mainstream is relative to momentum ratio. When it is large enough, jet flow can reach the center of mainstream, that is, the extent of mixture is adequate. But larger momentum ratio also causes greater refluxing area near reactor's wall. There appear high temperature points near jet flow outlet; it shows the mixture is uneven near wall. It is bad for the production of TiO2, and it is scabbed easily. Therefore it is necessary to improve the structure of the real reactor.
