Abstract:This paper presents a real-time digital image stabilization (DIS) algorithm that removes translational and rotational motion without affecting the deliberate panning motion by using Harris corner and a modified proportional integrated (MPI) controller from a captured monitoring video. This paper adopts Harris corners as features, and employs a self-adaption feature matching method to get local motion vectors. A modified PI control system is used in the motion compensating unit. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method provides robust control in either translational or rotational motion degraded video. ? 2011 IEEE.
