Abstract:This work is a result of the statistical research devoted to the routing optimization that has been performed by zoning the region of operation of wireless peer-to-peer mobile stations. The aim of this research is determination of the optimal number of sectors and annular zones, which divide the region of operation of wireless stations. This type of partition allows us to reduce the number of intermediate stations-routers at the stage of the route discovery and, as a result, to save network energy resources. Zoning method makes it possible to take control over the transmitted power at the stage of data transmission from the station to the station in a discovered route. This work shows us that the most optimal division is the division of the region of operation into 3 sectors and 10 annular zones. With assumption that the station is able to estimate the distance to the next station this method could be used not only for wireless stations with two antennas, but for the one-antenna stations also. ? 2014 by Binary Information Press
