Abstract:The axially compressive behaviour of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) filled steel tube stub columns after exposed to high temperatures was investigated experimentally. The tested specimens included RAC filled steel tubes and the reference normal concrete-filled steel tubes (CFST), and the test parameters were: maximum temperature experienced (T) and recycled coarse aggregate replacement ratio (r). The test results showed that, after exposed to high temperatures, RAC filled steel tube stub columns still had a good performance for resisting the axial deformations and bearing the axially compressive loads. In general, the strength and elastic modulus of RAC filled steel tube stub columns decreased with increase of temperature and recycled coarse aggregate replacement ratio. Under the same conditions, the higher the maximum temperature experienced and the recycled coarse aggregate replacement ratio, the higher the loss ratio of the bearing capacity and stiffness of RAC filled steel tube stub columns after exposed to high temperatures.
