Profile

Xingzhou Du is an Associate Professor at Dalian University of Technology. He obtained his Bachelor's degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2017 and his Ph.D. from Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2021. From 2021 to 2024, he served as Research Associate at the Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. In 2025, he joined the Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems at Dalian University of Technology. His research interests include the mechanisms, actuation-perception navigation frameworks, and biomedical applications of microrobots and microrobot swarms.

Dr. Du has published over 20 SCI-indexed papers and international conference papers, including several as the first author or co-first author in top-tier journals such as Nature Machine Intelligence, IEEE T-RO, IEEE/ASME TMECH, ACS Nano, and IEEE RA-L over the past five years. He has won Toshio Fukuda Best Paper Award in Mechatronics in IEEE ARM 2020 (as the first author), Best Paper Finalist in IEEE RCAR 2023, and Frontiers of Science Award in International Congress of Basic Science. Additionally, he holds one authorized U.S. patent and two authorized Chinese patents.

Dr. Du welcomes students with backgrounds in mechanical engineering, automation, biomedical engineering, or related fields to join his research group for Master's, Ph.D., or postdoctoral studies. Undergraduate students who are passionate about research and eager to gain scientific experience are also encouraged to participate in research projects.
