[4] Wind Resistance of Village Building

Wind disaster is one of the most destructive natural disasters. Typhoon (hurricane) wind disaster is the most serious, its occurrence frequency is high, the influence scope is extremely wide. Since the founding, the total number of tropical cyclones generated in the northwest Pacific is about 2046, an average of 33 years, of which a total of 512 in mainland China landing, the average annual 8.3, up to 12 a year, China's coastal provinces have a pay a heavy price every year. 

China's rural areas along the coast of the distribution of a large number of low houses. The previous investigation shows that the collapses and damage of low buildings in villages and towns are the main cause of the huge loss of life and property, more than 50% of the total loss. Therefore, it is very necessary to study the wind resistance of low buildings in villages and towns. At present, the developed countries attached great importance to the low-rise building wind resistance research and application. On the basis of a large number of studies, the establishment of low-rise building wind resistance design specifications and database systems, developed with decades of wind disaster data database system and advanced wind disaster assessment system. Compared with the developed countries, there is a lack of wind-resistant design and research in strong typhoon areas, the mechanism of low wind building damage caused by strong wind is not clear, There is no standard to guide the anti-typhoon design of village buildings. The wind load characteristics and even the damage characteristics of village buildings in China only stay in the empirical knowledge and far from scientific understanding, so far there is still a lack of relevant manuals (guidelines or norms) and databases, and no practical application of wind disaster assessment system to guide our country Wind Resistant Design of Village Building.

Based on field investigation of strong wind damage and field investigation of strong wind characteristics, the wind field model of villages and towns in typhoon-prone areas was established, and wind-tunnel tests and numerical simulations were carried out to study the models of typhoon-prone villages and towns in different local topography, the windbreaker technology of the village and town buildings in China is systematically studied, Wind-induced vibration control devices are developed on the basis of the wind-resisting methods and related techniques of different types of buildings, The vibration-damping control design method and design scheme are established. the development of the town building wind disaster database and the wind disaster evaluation system and evaluation system. The research results will greatly enhance our ability in the area of building wind and disaster reduction, and will greatly enrich the low-building anti-wind database, and promote the development of wind engineering and related disciplines.
