Abstract:Based on the living anionic polymerization, three star tri-polymers of styrene and dienes (S-IBS) were successfully synthesized with divinylbenzene (DVB) as coupling agent. Their average grafted number (AGN) was above 7.0 and the efficiency for coupling (CE) was about 93%. Then, the hydrogenated star polymers (HS-IBS) were also successfully prepared. The efficiency for hydrogenation was above 95 %,and the calculation for composition of copolymers was established. The copolymers of HS-IBS were regarded as tri-polymers of ethylene, propylene and styrene (E-P-St), thus the 13C and 1H NMR method were used for characterization and calculation. The results between calculated compositions after hydrogenation, feed ratios and before hydrogenation showed the minimal error below 1%. This also described the calculation method exhibited good precision in the analysis of hydrogenated tri-polymers.
