Abstract:The effects of nano-diamond additive on the performances of anti-wear, friction reduction and heat transfer of lubricant are analyzed with friction simulation tester and thermal conductivity meter, and a morphological analysis is also conducted on friction surface by using SEM and TEM. Meanwhile nano-diamond lubricant is tested on an AVL diesel engine test bench to investigate its application situation on real engine. The results show that the use of nano-diamond additive reduce the mechanical loses, enhance the heat transfer performance and lower the fuel consumption of engine, and enhance the overall performance of traditional lubricant. ©, 2015, SAE-China.
