摘要: The purpose of this study is to investigate the acute effect of a single bout of moderate-intensity aerobic cycling exercises on carotid arterial stiffness and hemodynamics in sedentary controls. Twelve healthy male sedentary volunteered to participate and perform 30min moderate aerobic cycling exercise in this study. At rest, and at 3 min, 15 min, 30 min after cycling, a color Doppler ultrasound was used to detect the images of the arterial inner diameters and center-line blood flow velocity waveforms at the right carotid arteries. Synchronously, electronic manometer was used to measure the systolic and diastolic pressure at the brachial artery. Carotid arterial hemodynamic parameters including arterial stiffness, flow rate, peripheral resistance, circumferential strain (CS), wall shear stress (WSS) and oscillatory shear index (OSI) were computed based upon Womersley theory. The results indicate that acute moderate aerobic cycling induces significant decrease in peripheral resistance and no significant change in arterial stiffness. After cycling intervention, the heart rate (HR) and the time-averaged flow rate (FR) increase while the time-averaged diameter decreases. The cycling intervention also increases the blood pressure (BP) and circumferential strain (CS). In addition, the moderate intensity aerobic cycling has significant effect on the oscillatory amplitude of WSS, and thus increases the OSI. These results provide with a base for further study of the enhancement of arterial elasticity by long term aerobic exercises and the associated hemodynamic mechanism. ? 2015, Publishing House for Journal of Hydrodynamics.
