Abstract:In this paper, we present a contour-based depth of field (DoF) extension method by using multi-focus elemental images (EIs) in synthetic aperture integral imaging (SAII). To overcome the limited DoF of SAII, the contour-based object extraction is developed. Then the minimum bounding box is employed to solve size inconsistency of the objects in EIs. The all-in-focus EIs are obtained by the block-based image fusion method. The experimental results can confirm the feasibility of the proposed method. © 2018 The Author(s).
