Abstract:Mobile Stock System (MSS) is one of the favorite applications of mobile commerce in China. Taking Task-Technology Fit (TTF) theory as the foundation, this paper is to explore factors affecting the usage of MSS. After reviewing papers on TTF and mobile commerce adoption, this study proposed a modified model of TTF. Results from a survey of 440 respondents indicated the validity of the modified model.: 1) both task-technology fit and alternative systems directly affect MSS usage; 2) functions of MSS are the main antecedents of TTF; self-efficacy and experience are important factors affecting individual's perception of TTF; 3) MSS usage does not heavily depend on the macro-environment of the stock market. Finally, implications for improving adoption of other mobile commerce applications are discussed at the end of the paper.
