Abstract: Using an acoustic vector sensor array, adaptive beamforming is addressed based on hypercomplex algebra. To utilize the minimum-variance distortionless response beamforming in the biquaternion domain, a variant of Capon beamformer named Biquaternion Capon (BQ-Capon) is proposed. Simulations show that the BQ-Capon beamformer outperforms the conventional long vector Capon beamformer with the convergence rate, and is less sensitive to the inaccuracy of the steering vector of the signal-of-interest (SOI) than the latter. ? 2011 IEEE.
