摘要:The current mixing air distribution system on airplanes is widely criticized both in aspects of air quality and thermal comfort. To remedy the problems, an under-aisle displacement air distribution system and a personal chair-armrest-embedded air distribution system are proposed. The under-aisle air system supplies conditioned air from the perforated panels in the aisles; while the personalized air system applies the under-aisle air system as the background ventilation, but simultaneously supplies the outside, conditioned air from the chair-armrest-embedded terminals to the inhalation region of a passenger. To evaluate the three air systems, a double-aisle aircraft cabin mockup with Boeing 767 as the prototype is constructed. Both the airflow pattern measured by a three-dimensional ultrasonic anemometer and the ventilation efficiency indicated by CO2 concentration are adopted to assess the systems. This study finds both the personalized and the under-aisle air systems are promising to improve the current cabin environment.
