Abstract:In this paper, a distannoxane compound with well-defined structure was synthesized from the reaction of di-n-butyltin oxide with 2, 3-butanediol. Poly-3-hydroxybutyrate (P-3-HB) was prepared by ring-opening polymerization of racemic p-butyrolactone (β-BL) using distannoxane as initiator. Effects of initiator concentration, polymerization time and temperature on inherent viscosity of the product were investigated. A series of copolymers of poly (butyrolactone-co-DL-lactide) and poly(butyrolactone-co-caprolactone) were prepared via ring-opening copolymerizations of butyrolactone and DL-lactide or caprolactone with distannoxane as initiator in vac-uo. The structure and properties of homopolymers and copolymers were characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR and DSC.
