Abstract: A novel poly (ether ketone ketone) containing the phthalazinone moiety (PPEKK) was prepared by the nucleophilic displacement reaction of 4-(4-hydroxyphenyl) (2H) phthalazin-1-one with bis-1,4-(4-chlorobenzoyl)benzene. The polymer was studied by FT-IR, 1H-NMR, DSC, TGA, X-ray diffraction. It has been proved that PPEKK was a amorphous plastics with high glass transition temperature (T g = 245.6  C) and good thermal stability, It was soluble in some solvents.
