Synthesis and characterization of copolyetherketones derived from hexaphenyl substituted diphenylbisphenol and hydroquinone

Abstract: New copolyetherketones were synthesized from 4,4  -difluorobenzophenone, 2,2  , 3,3  , 6,6  -hexaphenyl-4, 4  -diphenyl-l, 1  -diol and hydroquinone via polycondensation. The technique of 13C-NMR was employed to determine the content of the two bisphenols in the copolyetherketones. The chain structure was characterized by illustrating the average block length (L A, L D) in terms of the portion of different triads (AKA, DKD, AKD). The synthesized copolyetherketones have the properties of excellent solubility, high heat-resistance, good tensile strength and good selectivity for gas permeability.
