Abstract:With the development of Chinese basic research, Science and Technology Foundation Products (STFP) Management Department accumulates large numbers of products data. How to manage the increasing data efficiently and discover useful information is especially important in Foundation Management. On the basis of analyzing the character of STFP data and restriction of traditional STFP management system, this paper presents a new method to manage and analyze STFP data, integrating OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) with traditional method to construct a new entire integrated management system. Multidimensional data model is designed to be applied to STFP management. Finally, a part of products data from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Management Department are taken as an example to illustrate the application of multidimensional analysis, which will supply auxiliary support to potential knowledge Data Mining about basic research products.
