Abstract:In Honshi Hydropower Station there exists vibration of units and induced vibration of powerhouses and dams. It is concluded through the numerical and experiment research that the source of heavier vibration is due to the resonance between the units and the structures, which has caused the cracking of columns. Based on the research works, some proposals have been put forward to reinforce the powerhouse. After the measures are taken, the vibration frequency of the structure becomes much higher than the rotating speed of the units, so the resonance can be avoided. The amplitude of the structure vibration is also decreased remarkably.
