Abstract: Biofilm was the most common and effective method to wastewater treatment. In this review, we summarize the formation process and influencing factors of biofilm. It included that five different biofilm stage and Nine kinds of influence factor. At the same time, the composition variation of microbial communities in the biofilm formation process and the biofilm structure and mass transfer process also was discussed. At the end of paper, the relationship of novel nanotechnoly and biofilm was mentioned and the nano-ecobase biofilm wastewater treatment method was introduced. This paper can provide a summary and guidance for the development of Biofilm Wastewater Treatment Technology.
