Abstract:The effects of propylene oxide (PO) on catalytic behaviors of TS-1 catalyst during propylene epoxidation were observed by simulating the reaction in three ways, i.e. multi-recycle (repeated) use of TS-1, adding PO to the reaction liquid and impregnating the catalyst with PO in different solvents before use. There was no obvious changes observed in catalytic activity of TS-1 during recycle use. Selectivity for propylene oxide (SPO) decreased with the increase of the reaction time when methanol was used as the solvent. PO produced and already existed in the reaction system in some extent alleviated the harmful effect of H2O2 on TS-1 in the reaction system. Adding PO in reaction system affected TS-1 catalytic activity, both solvent and solvent/PO volume ratio also affected the catalytic performance of TS-1 significantly. Catalyst impregnated merely with PO lost its activity rapidly.
