Abstract: The studies on extra-framework titanium in titanium silicalites synthesized with different methods were carried out by UV-Vis spectroscopy. The results show that the reference has great effect on the peak position in the UV-Vis spectra of the titanium silicalites and different methods of synthesis will lead to different existing form of the extra-framework titanium. In titanium silicalites synthesized by hydrothermal method, the extra-framework titanium will exist in the form of anatase with TPAOH as the template, while with TPABr as the template, the extra-framework titanium will exist in condensed hexacoordination form (non-anatase and non-rutile). In the titanium silicalites prepared by gas-solid isomorphous replacement, the extra-framework titanium will exist in the form of rutile or anatase.
