Abstract: Cation-exchange reaction was applied to transform internal chemical input between luminescent CdTe nanorods and metal-bound organic dyes Calcein Blue into fluorescence signal output with amplified response, which provided ultrasensitive and highly selective detection of Cu(II) ions.
