摘要:Based on pressure-dependent elastoplastic Cosserat continuum model, progressive failure phenomena of the excavation and a retaining wall characterized by strain localization due to strain softening or adoption of non-associated yield criterion, are numerically simulated. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the Cosserat continuum finite elements in preserving the well-posedness of the localization problems widely existing in geotechnical engineering and in simulating the progressive failure phenomena characterized by strain localization due to strain softening or the non-associated yield criterion adopted.
