Abstract: An improved exemplar-based inpainting method of image texture is proposed. First, image matting technique is used to extract the object. Second, image segmentation technique is used to search in sub-area. This improved method can effectively maintain the linear structure of the image and reduce the processing time. The third, a self-adaptive patch size selected method is proposed to get a better-fit patch size with less sampling time. Further more, an inpainting method based on several images is proposed to get high quantity result. Experiments show that the improved method can remove the object exactly and restore the structure and texture effectively. ? 2009 Binary Information Press.
