Abstract: An efficient method for the synthesis of (Z) selective a-trifluoromethyl alkenyl triflates is described. As an important fluorinated building block, it is utilized successfully for the synthesis of various trifluoromethyl derivatives such as diarylethylenes, enynes, alkynes, and benzofurans.
