Abstract: A manganese-catalyzed C-H cyanation reaction of arenes has been developed using N-cyano-N-(4-methoxy)phenyl-p-toluenesulfonamide as the cyanating agent. The reaction proceeds smoothly with high regioselectivity to provide monocyanated products in satisfactory yields.
