Abstract:Double trolley quayside container cranes (DTQCs), automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) and automatic rail mounted gantry cranes (ARMGs) are widely used in automatic container terminals (ACTs) in China. To support the design and management of ACTs, we propose a 3D simulation model to simulate the discharging and loading operation based on agent-based simulation and microscopic traffic simulation on the AnyLogic software. Finally, we apply the proposed simulation model in a real case to certify that this model can provide decision support for the design and management of ACTs with DTQC/AGV/ARMG.
