Abstract:Current quality control approaches are not effective, since fault identification can be undetected until later phases of construction or even to the operation maintenance phase. To solve these problems, this research proposes an ontology-based semantic modeling approach for construction quality control. Specifically, the proposed model improves the construction quality control performance by ontology knowledge share and reuse, and facilitate the identification, mitigation and analysis of construction quality fault by ontology reasoning. The proposed model consists of two main ontology model, including Construction model and Construction quality model. Then, the model extension section presents three progressive layers:Framework layer,Instance layer,Reasoning layer. Finally, a concrete column is used to demonstrate the proposed model for quality control. This method realizes the integration of construction information and construction standard, increases the effectiveness of construction quality control and provide the better support for quality management.
