Abstract: In the article, we proposed an optimization control method to estimate the diffusion coefficient of the linear drug releasing in the 2D-disc device. Firstly, the diffusion equation of the linear drug releasing in the 2D-disc device in the polar coordinates system was given. Next, we give an optimal control model of the linear drug releasing problem in the 2D-disc device and use the least square method and separation of variables method to solve the problem to obtain the appropriate diffusion coefficient. Finally, a numerical example shows that the numerical method to be valid.
