Abstract:Due to the advantages such as environmentally friendly, fire-proof, low-cost, readily available and freely disposable, water hydraulic transmission has been widely applied in geotechnical test field. This paper reviews application status of water hydraulic transmission in geotechnical test field and introduces a typical static/dynamic water pressure loading devices. The working principle of self-developed high-precision water pressure and volume control device is highlighted, which is utilizing the high-performance AC servo motor to ensure that the pressure and volume control system has better dynamic response and control accuracy, as well as using high-precision screw and an encoder to achieve accurate detection of the volume (displacement). The Fuzzy-PID control scheme employed in practice is introduced, which is relatively simple and fast-operated to be used for real-time control. The test results of the pressure and volume control system are given in the paper. In terms of high-precision control of water pressure, the static water pressure control precision can reach 0.1% F.S. and dynamic tracking resolution can be less than ±2 kPa, both of which satisfy the ideal control effects. According to the requirements of geotechnical test, the high-precision test to measure the real volume change of non-saturated sample has been accomplished, and calculating method of real volume change is given in the test. The device could be able to solve the long-term problem of the inaccurate measurement of the hard-fully saturated sample's volume change. © 2015 SoftMotor Ltd.
