Abstract:Synthesis of new energy transfer system with naphthalimide as energy donor and squaraine as acceptor is described. The synthesis method is simple and can give high yield of intermediate. Moreover the reaction condition is very mild. Fluorescence spectra show that this system can absorb energy at relatively short wavelengths and fluoresce in the near-IR region, the energy transfer from naphthalimide to squaraine is total and rapid. Additional studies on detection of F- are carried out by concentration titration and time intervals. The result shows that it realized ratiometric fluorescent detection and apparent Stocks’shift—blue shift 151nm was obtained
