Profile

My name is Xu Zhaoguang, also known as Stephen. I hold a Ph.D. and currently hold the position of an Associate Professor in Dalian University of Technology. I am the Assistant Dean of the School of Economics and Management and the Deputy Director of both the Center for Big Data and Intelligent Decision-Making and the Department of Management Science and Engineering. Additionally, I had the privilege of being a visiting scholar at the Technical University of Munich and am a proud member of the Dalian Key Laboratory of Data Science and Knowledge Management. I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Business Administration Postdoctoral Station of Dalian University of Technology and a joint PhD student between DTU and BMW Brilliance.

My research interests focus on Informed Machine Learning (Informed ML) and Data-Driven Decision-Making, with application in Intelligent Quality ManagementPrognostics and Health Management (PHM). Currently, I am presiding over 1 National Natural Science Foundation Youth Science Fund project, 1 Liaoning Provincial Natural Science Foundation project, 1 Liaoning Provincial Social Science Planning Fund project, and 1 Central Universities Fundamental Research Funds Talent Research Special Project. I have presided over 1 key project of Dalian Association for Science and Technology Innovation Think Tank and 1 project of Dalian Science and Technology Innovation Fund. I participated in one key project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China as the second participant, and participated in a number of national, provincial and ministerial projects. In 2021, I was selected into the Young Talent Level of High-level Talents in Dalian City and the Excellent Talent Program of School of Economics and Management of Dalian University of Technology. I have received more than 20 awards, including excellent doctoral dissertation of Dalian University of Technology.

In recent years, I have published one monograph, and more than 20 academic papers in journals such as International Journal of Production Research, Computers & Industrial Engineering, Expert Systems with Applications, Advanced Engineering Informatics, Computers in Industry, Journal of intelligent manufacturing, China Journal of Management Science, Journal of Management and other important domestic and foreign academic journals and international conferences, including 9 SCI-retrieved papers and 10 EI-retrieved papers as the first author/corresponding author. I authorized one national invention patent as the first inventor.

I am currently a member of the Youth Committee of the Chinese Society for Preferential Methods of Integration and Economic Mathematics, and a member of INFORMS, POMS, AIS, the Chinese Society of Systems Engineering, the Society of Management Science and Engineering, and the China Computer Federation. I serve as an editorial board member of Journal of Information Analysis and a peer reviewer for the international SCI journals IJPE, IJPR, AIR, CAIE, JIM, and some chinese journals such as the China Journal of Management Science and Journal of Management.
