Abstract: Photoinduced electron transfer reactions are fundamental processes of photosynthesis. One important example is natural photosynthesis in photosystem II (PS II), where sunlight is converted into chemical energy via a light-induced charge separated state. In recent years, artificial model systems based on tyrosine-ruthenium to mimic the electron transfer reactions in PS II have been studied extensively.
