摘要:Previous researchers have found that cracks in concrete can form potential flow channels and allow more aggressive agents, such as water or chloride ions, to penetrate into it. The objective of this paper is to propose a numerical simulation method on mesoscale to investigate the effect of cracking on the transfer characteristic of concrete. At mesoscale level, concrete is assumed as consisting of coarse aggregates, mortar matrix with fine aggregate dissolved in it, and the interfacial transition zone (ITZ). Based on this mesoscopic composite structure, a mesoscale numerical approach - the truss network model, is applied to the evaluation of chloride diffusivity and water absorption in the cracked concrete. The transfer property of chloride and water in cracks is quantitatively determined by available test data. The effect of crack width and cracking modes can be illustrated by numerical calculation.
