Profile
Fuji Wang, born in 1974, is a Professor at Dalian University of Technology (DUT). He has been appointed as Leading Innovative Talents of Ministry of Science and Technology, New Century Excellent Talents of Ministry of Education, top hundred talents of Hundred, thousand and Ten Thousand Talents Program in Liaoning province, a core member of Creative Research Groups of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Collaborative Innovation Center of Major Machine Manufacturing in Liaoning. He obtained his Bachelor and Master degrees in mechanical design and theory from Southern Institute of Metallurgy in 1998 and 2001 respectively. He was granted with Ph.D. in mechanical design and theory from DUT in 2005. Since then, he has been working at DUT, and get the promotion to Associate Professor in 2007 and to Professor in 2012.
Targeting at urgent demand on manufacturing of high-end equipment, Prof. Wang has been a principal investigator or co-investigator for over 20 research programmes, such as National Program on Key Basic Research Project of China (973 Program), Key Program Joint Funds of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Liaoning Province, General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key Technology Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, No.4 National Science and Technology Major Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, etc.
In the machining of composite materials, Prof. Wang has revealed the material removal and damage mechanisms of in cutting of carbon fiber reinforced plastic/polymer (CFRP) composites and achieved the original innovation on the cutting theory of CFRP. Meanwhile, he has invented a number of novel cutting tools, cutting processes as well as machine tools for high-quality and efficient machining of CFRP components. These novel technologies and innovations are world-leading and have been granted with the First Class National Technology Invention Awards.
In the manufacturing of precision rolling functional parts, Prof Wang has developed comprehensive performance-test systems for high-speed and precision ball screw pair and linear guideway pair. Both systems are first innovated in China and advance in the world. The innovations are granted with Liaoning Science and Technology Progress Award and Dalian Science and Technology Progress Award.
The applicant has published more 150 articles with 334 times SCI citations excluding self-citation, one monograph and one textbook, obtained 49 granted Chinese patents and 8 scientific and technical evaluated achievements He has been granted with the First Class National Technology Invention Awards, the First Class Technological Invention Award of Ministry of Education, the Second Class Liaoning Science and Technology Progress Award and the First Class Dalian Science and Technology Progress Award, etc.
