Abstract:In the initial phase of hot stamping product and die design for high-strength steel sheet, there is a lack of a tool which can quickly simulate the formability of hot stamping work piece only according the shape of the work piece and little die information, which will play a guiding role for subsequent product and die design. In view of the above problems, One-step inverse forming FEM (Finite Element Method) for hot forming of high-strength steel sheet 22MnB5 was proposed and implemented, which could quickly evaluate the formability of high-strength steel sheet 22MnB5 in the state of austenitic at high temperature. Taking a B-pillar stiffer for example, the method was applied to simulate the formability, and the simulation result was compared with the result of hot stamping experiment. The result showed that the simulation result was in good agreement with the experimental data, which had confirmed the effectiveness of One-step inverse forming FEM for hot forming of high-strength steel sheet 22MnB5.
